Namibia - December 2015
Dear Friends of Namibia,
As the year comes to an end we wish all our valued guests a wonderful Festive Season and a fantastic start to 2016! As promised in the last newsletter our new colleague Digo introduces himself, and as usual we end off with an update on the Boomerang Kindergarten.
Enjoy reading!
Jacobs Digo Musweu, called Digo
I was born and raised in the eastern part of the Caprivi now Zambezi Region in a small village called Iseke and only came to Windhoek after finishing school in search for better living conditions. I did all the work done by village boys when growing up as this was a norm back then, herding cattles, milking cows, ploughing and fetching fire wood and of course walking to and from school etc.
I was introduced to the city life in 1999 when I came for school holidays and it was really a great privilege for me and thanks to my elder brother who was already working in the city. This helped me see things in a more different perspective and I somehow got inspired to study hard so I would one day have an opportunity to live in the city myself.

I moved to Windhoek straight after matric in November 2002 to live with my brother and have been living in the city since then. I embarked on the tourism journey in 2005 when I enrolled for Travel and Tourism Management at Polytechnic of Namibia and I officially joined the industry in 2008 when I was doing my internship and never left the industry ever since.
I worked for various tour operators and this is my seventh year in the industry and I have acquired wealth knowledge, skills and experience in the tourism industry and I am ready to share it with our clients for better travel experience.
Acacia Namibia is the place that caters for all your travel needs and I am glad to have joined such a great and dedicated team where everything falls into place and where you are considered part of the family.
Driven by passion and ambition, my intention is to excel in life and I intend doing just that for as long as I can be a productive member of Acacia Namibia.
Boomerang Kindergarten
On Saturday, 28 November 2015 Boomerang Kindergarten had its graduation ceremony and Christmas party. Certificates were handed over to 8 children who will be starting school next year.
In January the Kindergarten will be moving to bigger premises nearby where there is more space for the kids to run and play. All this is only possible with the generous support of our guests and we want to take the opportunity to say thank you again for your support and donations.
Boomerang Kindergarten works in cooperation with StepsforChildren, a Foundation under the leadership of Michael Hoppe and based in Hamburg, Germany. They support a few projects in Namibia.
